The New Zealand Women’s Football Team
This documentary follows a team of women, constantly tagged as the underdogs, in both their national landscape, and international competition, and delves into the dedication, love and passion that is exhibited, and required to play in the face of adversity. Without funding, childcare and compensation, these women work to the bone to get the chance to play until they bleed. This film is the cinematic representation of the struggle to compete, of the processes and functions going into gaining respect, both for a nation, and for oneself. www.vanessajoysmith.com
